Acorn Stairlift Specifcations?
The Acorn stairlift is made in England and being distributed throughout North America from a distribution facility in Florida.
It is being sold direct on the internet as a do it yourself type stair lift installation or through stairlift dealers in some areas of Canada and the USA.
The track is extruded aluminum and runs on a rack and pinon system. It is battery operated and the charger requires to be plugged into a normal house receptacle.

- Pressure sensitive safety surfaces that prevent the stair lift from colliding with any obstruction on the stairway. These are located around the footrest, and on the top and bottom of the carriage
- Limit sensors to ensure that the it always stops in the correct position
- Electronic and mechanical braking systems eliminates the possibility of an uncontrolled descent.
