Very interesting article in the Toronto Star on Saturday, November 18th names “After the Fall.” Key fact is that almost half of all injury-related deaths among seniors in Canada were caused by falls. The Public Health Agency of Canada estimates one in three people older than 65 will fall at least once a year, a rate that increases to one in two for people over the age of 80.

Stranded for Two Years Upstairs – A Stair Chair Solution

Challenge: A client from east Hamilton had no access to the second level of his home for over two years due to complications from a stroke.

Solution: He called SILVER CROSS Hamilton and decided to have a stair chair with fold up arms installed to allow him to do a slide transfer to the seat of the stair chair at both landings of the stair.
