Who We Are
SILVER CROSS began in 1993 as a single location in Oakville, Ontario, Canada. A couple of years later, the first franchise location was opened in London, Ontario.
The company continued to operate a corporate location until 2001. At this time, in order to handle internet inquiries from our numerous web sites, the focus was directed to creating the SILVER CROSS network of associated companies in the U.S.A. and UK. More than thirteen hundred (1300) companies were screened to assure customer satisfaction and availability of recycled equipment. Client feedback fine-tuned the network over the past three years to the point where the complete system has been automated.
Since the first franchise was awarded in 1994, SILVER CROSS has grown to cover more than 80% of the North American market. At the present time, it consists of more than 100 affiliates in the USA and the UK,10 franchisees in Canada and 6 in the USA.
Expansion of our franchise system across Canada, under Privax (Canada) Inc., and across the USA, under Privax USA Inc., is currently underway with an abundance of applicants from every major city.
In time, if the right candidate is found, our affiliate companies in the USA will be replaced with franchise locations. There is also the possibility that existing affiliates could be converted to franchise locations.
Since it's beginning, the SILVER CROSS vision was to create a network of 100 locations across North America connected via the internet to gain a substantial share of the market. This vision will be realized in the next decade.
On behalf of our network of franchisees and affiliates, SILVER CROSS uses its substantial buying power to negotiate contracts with its suppliers. Each member of the network and their clients benefit from the group buying power of one of the largest entities for home accessibility equipment in the world.
Our new ambition is to provide visionary leadership by supplying to our franchisees ahead of the curve technology and thereby, providing clients with a unique, client focused, solution oriented service.
The SILVER CROSS mission is to establish a dominant national brand in the Home Accessibility
field by providing dedicated franchise partners with the marketing tools and systems
to gain substantial market share.
