Funding varies by state, province, region and city. Generally speaking, it is more common to have some funding available for mobility equipment than for elevating devices. Can I drive to pick up used equipment in another area?
Our SILVER CROSS locations or affiliates cover a defined geographical area for both installation and service. They are not willing to go beyond these boundaries. So, to drive to an affiliate's office and pick up a piece of equipment is not an option. Our affiliates want to support their product sales after the fact and thereby must define their business boundaries.
Can I install a recycled lift myself?
No. Our policy states that a recycled lift must be installed by a qualified installer. There are many reasons for this stance. There are safety switches that need to be carefully removed during a lift removal and track lengths require cutting to fit the new location's stair slope. Do recycled products require more service?
If the recycled equipment has been gently used and is a current model, then it is quite common to have less service on a used piece of equipment. This is mainly due to the customer's expectation being lower with used equipment .
