"I wanted to say thank you to your company Silver Cross and in particular your Raleigh, NC representative, Bonnie. My mother has arthritis in her knees and her right knee in particular is most hard to handle regarding pain, and flare ups due to her current arthritis condition. I wanted to extend to Bonnie and to you a sincere thanks. Bonnie was most responsive to my initial telephone call and scheduled an appointment with me as soon as I was able to meet with her.
In particular, Bonnie's calm approach in working with people, her empathy in being able to understand the needs not only of the person or person needing mobility assistance, but their family members as well, makes her most suited to her job. My mother was admitted to Rex Hospital through the Rex emergency room about 2 1/2 weeks ago. After a stay in the hospital Mom was admitted to Rex Rehab and discharged to our home, this past Saturday. I met with Bonnie at Mom's home on Monday. During my meeting with Bonnie I was feeling harried, and rushed, as I have a seven year old daughter who I needed to visit at school earlier that day than I had anticipated. Bonnie was not only extremely competent and informative but she was able to be a warm and calm presence as we discussed the variety of lifts and what would best suit my mother's circumstances and needs. Mom had another problem with her knee on Tuesday and we were able to see our orthopedic doctor's PA and get immediate relief for her pain and her mobility is slowly getting better.
Not only did Bonnie follow up with us in a timely way by telephone but she shared with me that she had been giving our situation thought and realized that my Mom's need may be better suited by a lift rather than a stair chair. I agree with that assessment. Since we feel that my mother will need to be at our home a bit longer than we at first thought, we do have time to prepare my mother's garage area for any needed construction to put the lift in place.
Your company , Silver Cross, was recommended to me by a social worker at Rex Rehab, whose first name is Ashleigh. As I told Bonnie, I put a great deal of trust in Rex Long Term Nursing Care and Rehab as my stepfather Paul lives full time now at Rex Long Term Care. Because of this, I told Bonnie that I felt I did not need to shop around with any other agency because if Silver Cross was recommended by a social worker from Rex Rehab, that gave me utmost confidence in your organization.
We will be working with Bonnie in the coming weeks to plan our installation of the lift. I have full confidence in Bonnie's ability to assess our needs and to put in place a unit that will meet our needs".
