A-B Stair Lift Measurement

This is the measurement from the noise of the top step to the floor at the bottom of the stairs.

Overhang

The amount of rail over hang at the top of the stairs.

Soft Start / Stop

When the stair lift starts and stops it does so softly. This is usually accomplished by the type of motor being used.

Call Send Controls

These are a device that operates the stair lift when you are not sitting on the chair. They can be remote, meaning they are not wired to the stair lift controls, or wired type call send controls.

Distance out from wall

A few manufacturers list the distance from the wall to the inside edge of the track. Most list the distance from the wall to outside edge of the stair lift track.

Angle of stairs

This is the slope of the stairs. Stair lifts range in slope or angle range. Usually a basement stairs are steeper and you must confirm that the stair lift model selected will accomodate the angle of the stairs.

Stair Tread

This is the demension that is where you place your foot when you are walking up a stairway.

Stair Rise

This demension is the height of a stair.
